eQuorum Releases ImageSite® 6.0

ImageSite V6 offers AutoCAD 2005 Support, Dynamic Reference Files, and Full Text CAD Searching for Active Collaboration User

ATLANTA, GEORGIA - July 22, 2004 - eQuorum Corporation today announced the availability of ImageSite® version 6.0, a major update to its Web-based engineering document management software solution. ImageSite combines the best features of traditional document management systems and active project collaboration.

New features in this version of ImageSite provide significant productivity increases for active CAD users and for interactive project collaboration. ImageSite's new Full Text Search module lets users easily find documents based on their content; even AutoCAD files, where searches can be performed for words in the CAD file such as the title block.

"At the start of each development cycle, eQuorum targets the major productivity benefits that we hope to create for our users. This establishes a theme for the release. The theme of ImageSite V6 was to create improvements for the design oriented CAD Users and active project collaboration users," says Frank Bouchard, vice president of sales and marketing at eQuorum. "ImageSite has already evolved into an outstanding archival and electronic distribution solution; however, we wanted to create improvements in the way a Java based application interacts with a user's local desktop to make the check-in, check-out, launching and versioning of active, dynamic documents, including CAD files with their complex reference files, much simpler. With this release of ImageSite, we've done it."

New features in ImageSite 6.0 include the following:

  • The ImageSite Local Workspace - ImageSite V6 includes a powerful new Local Workspace feature that significantly streamlines the check-in, check-out, downloading, and launching of CAD files, Office documents, email, or any type of application data stored in ImageSite. ImageSite automatically scans the local workspace and finds new or revised documents needing to be checked into the ImageSite repository.

  • ImageSite Full Text Search Module - A new ImageSite Full Text Search (FTS) module is available for purchase with ImageSite V6 that allows documents to be searched for based on their content. When implemented with ImageSite EX, the FTS module finds words or phrases within AutoCAD files, allowing users to search for files based on title block or other content that is in the CAD file, such as notes or values within the drawing title block.

  • Smart ImageSite Folders - ImageSite folders are a powerful mechanism for organizing and searching for collections of documents and relating those collections to work activities, such as work order processing or drawing set approvals. When using ImageSite's workflow module, as workflows progress from one step to another, folder attributes are automatically updated (just like Document attributes).

  • New Folder Content Display - ImageSite's new Folder User Interface (UI) greatly streamlines folder viewing and navigation. The Folder Contents tab immediately displays Documents or Sub-folders contained within the folder with convenient icons to perform common tasks such as viewing, check-out, and downloading of documents or folders.

  • AutoCAD 2005 Support - ImageSite EX now supports AutoCAD 2005 and earlier versions for online viewing, markup, collaboration and batch set plotting.

  • Multi-Layout AutoCAD Support - ImageSite V6 supports multiple Layouts of a single AutoCAD file within the ImageSite viewer for viewing, markup and collaboration. Markups and notes can be added to each layout view independently of one another.

  • Dynamic Reference File Support - ImageSite EX now provides dynamic reference file linking for active AutoCAD and MicroStation design environments. As AutoCAD or MicroStation documents are checked into the ImageSite repository, each file is stored independently with its own version control mechanism, but with bi-directional database links. Required reference files are automatically downloaded with the master file when a CAD file with references is downloaded or check-out. Similarly, when a referenced file is modified and checked back into the ImageSite repository, all files referencing it are automatically updated.

ImageSite is licensed by the number of concurrent users or by the number of documents to be stored in the ImageSite repository. ImageSite is available directly from eQuorum, or through authorized resellers and partners including Xerox Corporation.
